Eclectic Collection to be Auctioned – Friday, November 22

The annual exhibition – this year titled RED – by the artists of The Red Mill Studio Gallery opens on Friday, November 22 from 6:00 p.m.

Artist and Red Mill owner Rocheen Navarro teaches three evening classes at the venue.  Approximately 30 artists attend these classes, and together they have created a variety of fabulous works for exhibition and sale.  They have also created an eclectic range of beautiful 5 by 12 inch panels for silent auction, and will generously donate the proceeds from the auction of the panels to Art Partners.

Four Art Partners who attend classes at The Red Mill are participating in this exhibition.  The partnership of Janine Egan and mentor Judi McGuigan have created beautiful panels which look stunning when pictured together.  Works by Daniel Marinovich and mentor Edy Rees will be sure to intrigue.  Artistic Advisor Helen Seiver also has a work on offer.

I like ALL of these, but my favourites are the Dog, the side profile of the woman (Marilyn Monroe?) beside it, the woman in the red Kimono, and the red swirl-like flowers on the blue background. I received an invitation (from another artist friend) to the opening of this event, and am hoping that my husband and I will be able to attend. If we can’t make it I’ll DEFINITELY be visiting the exhibition/sale sometime over the weekend. Thank you for sharing a sneak preview of these delightful art pieces.

Thanks Catherine for having a sneak peek. We love your choices, but you’re right, there are so many to choose from. And, they are going to really come alive when you see them in person. We do hope you will be able to make it on Friday. The preview is from 6:00 p.m. with the auction running from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Thanks Judi. You’re right, the exhibition is stunning. It’s a very significant body of work by all The Red Mill crew. We look forward to seeing you this evening at the opening.

Love the spirit of Art Partners and the tireless dedication of Wanda to connect community with artists through stories, exhibitions, love of people.
The exhibition is already successful for the collaboration of so many panels being presented for auction and love the theme by the way.
First glance my heart went to Daniels and Linda Blyth’s panel and recognised Helen’s panel straight away, however enjoyed seeking for the “Red” out in all the panels.

Thank you Apikara for your kind words. It was a super evening on Friday, with all the panels being sold. You’re right, the ‘red’ theme was a grand idea, with beautiful reds being woven throughout many of the panels. The exhibition is still on if you get a chance.

Thanks Linda. This was a fabulous collaboration for us. We were positioned where we want to be – in community. Not outside looking in, or alongside, but IN. We’re looking forward to doing it all again. And, thanks for contributing your beautiful panel to the auction event!

My favourites are the lady in red, the red poppies, the red roses (with smattering of bright yellow), the feathers with leaves and the wonderful Middle Eastern temple. Confronted with them in real life I would find it very hard to choose, I’m absolutely sure! I’m sorry I missed the auction, but hope it went really well. The talent is just amazing. (I’m a little worried, as I definitely commented on this post before. Just an idea, have a quick look in your spam folder just in case it’s being over scrupulous – someone else said my replies from ZigaZag had gone to spam.) So this time I’m replying from Lifestyle Fifty 😉

We really missed YOU at the auction! It was such a lovely evening – plenty of colour, energy and enthusiasm. We love your choices! We’re hoping for more of the same in 2014. With plenty of advance notice, hopefully you’ll be able to join us and get in on the bidding!
